INRAE and its Public Policy Support Division (DAPP) are setting up a series of approaches and methods to support the Institute’s scientists in their expert appraisal and public policy support activities. The aim is for scientists to:

• gain a better understanding of the field of public policy support,
• find their bearings in the ecosystem of public action partners,
• identify the different roles and positions they can adopt,
• innovate with partners,
• conduct expert appraisals in complete safety,
• and, more generally, improve their public policy support skills.

As part of a group that includes the DAPP’s thematic project managers and the public policy support correspondents in INRAE’s 14 research departments, the public policy support mission has been set up to define activities, support innovative and cross-disciplinary initiatives, strengthen the quality approach to expertise, assist and support the development of skills, and publicise and promote activities and their results.
