The economists at the SMART unit in Rennes focus on agricultural economics. Pierre Dupraz studies the Common Agricultural Policy’s agri-environmental measures, in particular payments for environmental services. After years of research working closely with farmers, his knowledge is now being put to good use in drafting the new CAP. The challenge is to incorporate innovations in payments for environmental services rendered by agricultural activity.
