Entomological surveillance network and early detection of arboviruses

In a globalised world where pathogens, their hosts and insect vectors circulate freely, the emergence of vector-borne diseases is a major public health issue. Scientific data indicates that the risk of emergence varies according to the pathogen, the vector, the host and their environment, requiring the development of integrated one-health approaches. French public policy is moving away from the detection of human/animal cases towards vector control. However, the entomological surveillance component of the national vector control strategy suffers from a small number of players and a lack of robust scientific knowledge. The RESEDAPP project aims to put the expertise of academic and private partners at the service of public partners to propose rigorous, innovative and effective entomological surveillance in order to guide and support public policies towards a model of integrated prevention and management of vector-borne diseases.
